Sweet harmonies rocked by melodious tenderness, this piano-voice duet propose a trip in the heart of “Motown music”. From New Orleans to Mississippi, with grace and sensitivity, they revisit jazz, blues and soul standards.
Elina JONES is a self-taught singer, fascinated by soul music. Her idols are Etta James and Janis Joplin. She plays in the band Banana Soul, with which she appeared on the stage of Cybèle, as part of the Jazz à Vienne Festival, in July.
Eddy TCHEUREKDJIAN learns piano at the Villeurbanne Conservatoire of Music. He belongs to the fusion trio Jasual Cazz. His influences are more classical and jazz, like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.
They met up at jam sessions (Labo Music Bar, Maison Mère) in Lyon. A “musical symbiosis” was immediately born, pushing them to mix their universes through this duet.
